Northwest-Shoals Community College has filed a copyright appointment notice to establish April Cookson, Coordinator of Distance Education, as the College's agent to receive notification of claimed infringement from a copyright owner as required by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. The Act requires the complainant to include certain information as specified below.
The Digital Millennium Copyright Act specifies that all infringement claims must be in writing (either electronic mail or paper letter) and must include a physical or electronic signature, identification of the supposed infringed work and/or material, contact information for the complainant, a statement that the complainant party has a good faith belief that the use of the supposed infringed work is not authorized by the copyright owner or the law, and a statement that the information regarding the work is accurate and the complainant party has been authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
